Day two in Sedona
It’s 5:42 and I have finished my major obligation here, which was to co-present with my entertainment attorney about how to get your film out there, legally and as efficiently as possible. Given that your odds of getting a feature narrative distributed is less than 5%, this is nothing to be disregarded, even though I have.
My disregarding and magic days are done. While I stick firmly to my vision and reasons for making work, I try to know my audience and sell as well as I can.
I have learned a lot, and I have a lot to learn.
The panel today was good, except that I was shaded by my attorney who went renegade and high jacked the talk. We’ve talked and it’s OK, and if this had happened in a co-presentation back home I would have been upset, but here it was OK and a learning experience for both of us.
But this is a funny little world; there are so many sincere people with sincere and not always interesting messages, trying to get their ideas, opinions and voices out there.
I feel like I am in that boat too right now and it feels really remedial.
Otherwise my work as contracted here is done. It is now up to me to get the most out of this that I can. Have fun, see films, sleep in maybe, hike and find a few vortex, do some online damage control, get some exercise—see, I am expecting a month out of the next two and a half days, oh how Swenson.
But I will get some work done and I will have fun too. I am going back to a whirlwind March-more on that later.
OK, off to a film. Will wrap this up later, probably much later…
Crap, it’s 12:47, I hope this posts…
